Technology is fast improving. With the advances in technology, people work becomes easier and productive. These advances have also contributed to hospitals and health care centers. And because of so many patients to take care of every day, one of the most challenging tasks is record keeping. Physicians should have a good and accurate records needed for proper diagnosis and treatment. With the advances of technology, these tasks can easily be performed.

For traditional methods, patient’s records were being kept on a record sheet and being filed into a folder. When records needed to be updated, they are inserted in the individual folders. When patients are transferred from one hospital to another, these records are often faxed or copied and supplied to the new hospital for record keeping. This requires lots of effort and it can sometimes be very hard to keep the file up to date.

But due to the advances of technology, record keeping can now be accomplished with less error. All patients’ records are being placed in a computer with supporting backups incase of date loss. If doctors need to update the file, they can easily input all the information to make the record up to date. When a patient will be transferred to the other hospital, records can easily be emailed. This can eliminate risk of data loss.

Technology has indeed contributed to make people’s task easy and fast. By adopting this method to medical centers, record keeping would be an easy task to handle. Patients’ medical records can be kept intact and can easily be updated. This is a great contribution to the medical field.
